In the wider economy we have seen a sharp decline in public trust in organisations. As processors of large amounts of personal data – much of it sensitive information – local authorities need to maintain the highest standards if they are to retain and regain the trust of the public.
Civica and MyLife Digital have compiled this report to help local councils prepare for the new General Data Protection Regulations, coming into force in May 2018, and to support councils to be fully compliant with existing regulations.
Looking at privacy policies across 137 different local authorities in the UK, we have created this report to help you identify any gaps in your own privacy policy.
