Corporate responsibility & sustainability

Our global operating model and focus on modern and appropriate business practices underpin the way we work.

But, it starts with our people - our growth and success over the years haven’t been coincidental. It’s been down to us attracting, recruiting and retaining, fresh thinking, like-minded individuals with a passion for making a difference and who share our values. Our people and their commitment to do well for their customers, colleagues and communities is a defining characteristic of Civica.

Out in the community

Sharing our expertise and supporting communities is an important aspect of our corporate social responsibility, and the Civica Foundation provides a focal point for our charitable and community support.

In the environment

As well as improving the way we deliver services through the use of efficient technology, we work with customers to develop innovative technology-based services that help reduce property, power and consumables requirements, as well as delivering cost savings, for example, as a result of paperless working.

The Civica Foundation

Run by volunteers from across the Group, the Civica Foundation has been supporting and organising charitable and community support initiatives for years.  All initiatives aim to make a positive difference and are supported and funded by individual and company donations.

EMT (Environmental Management Team)

Our EMT provides a focus for the development and implementation of our policies and to ensure there is environmental consideration in our decision making. The team also leads to cross-business initiatives like ‘Chair Miles’ where we encourage employees to car share when travelling for business by paying an additional mileage rate per passenger.

Each year members of the Civica team take to the streets across the country to brave the elements and spend a night under the stars to raise money for Action for Children. This October we raised a whopping £12,159.51 with donations still coming in! One member of our Bristol team even decided to take part on the day and raised more than £1,000 in just 24 hours!
