Civica wins coveted cloud finance software award

• In this year’s Computing Cloud Excellence Awards, Civica and South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust were recognised for ‘Best Cloud Finance Software’ with SLAM
• The Department of Health COVIDCareNI app was also Highly Commended for the ‘Best Cloud Project

Civica, a global leader in cloud software for public services, has won the ‘Best Cloud Finance Solution’ at the Computing Cloud Excellence Awards. The company picked up the award with South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for improving financial management and better patient outcomes. The company is also celebrating being Highly Commended in the ‘Best Cloud Project’ category for its work with the Department of Health in Northern Ireland.

In the ‘Best Cloud Finance Solution’ category, Civica and South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust were shortlisted alongside other leading cloud software providers including Sage and Workday. The project was praised by the judges who commented: “Technology is great at raising efficiencies – Civica’s work in the healthcare sector can not only save money, but lives as well.”

The challenges of doing more with less in the health and care sector are well documented. Using Civica SLAM in the cloud, South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is saving five days a month in process efficiencies and generating 26% costs savings.

Highly Commended in the ‘Best Cloud Project’ category, Civica partnered with the Department of Health NI to develop a new cloud-based app, COVIDCare NI, in just 10 days. It provides more than 100,000 citizens with a trusted information source and has reduced 111 helpline call volumes from 6,000 to just 1,000 per day.

Civica’s project with Southern Health and Social Care Trust was also shortlisted in the ‘Most Innovative Cloud Product or Service’ category for using mobile technology to protect key frontline NHS workers during COVID-19.

The Cloud Excellence Awards recognise the very best of the UK's cloud industry, from the most innovative and compelling products, through to the top use cases. This year the awards received hundreds of entries from organisations who have used the cloud to help improve vital services during the pandemic.
