Cheshire East Council selects Civica’s MultiVue for new Master Data Management implementation

Cheshire East Council (CEC) enhances data management capabilities to support its corporate information assurance framework and combat fraud.

Civica, a global leader in software for public services, has signed a new two-year G-Cloud contract with Cheshire East Council, for its MultiVue Master Data Management software.

The third largest unitary authority in North West England serving 381,000 residents, the council will use MultiVue to support its corporate information assurance framework by integrating critical datasets, reducing data duplication and improving data quality. This will provide a trusted set of residents and employee data or ‘golden thread’ across the council’s many business areas. The project aims to improve services to both residents and employees by ensuring their information is consistent, enabling efficiencies through improved insight, direct and indirect savings.

Phase one of the project will see data synchronised across registrars, revenues and benefits. Civica’s skills transfer approach will create rapid self-sufficiency, enabling the council to leverage the benefits of Master Data Management.

This programme will enable the council to elevate information into a complete record across our diverse business functions.  Master Data Management, with the right governance and approach, will support complete, accurate and well managed information. The golden record provided by Civica MultiVue will enhance information management for our residents irrespective of which service they are accessing. This new insight will enable us to maximise revenues by combatting fraud around Single Person Discount entitlement, while proactively identifying and extending that benefit to those who are entitled but not claiming.”

Gareth Pawlett, Chief Information Officer, Cheshire East Council

Chris Owen, Managing Director for Civica Master Data Management added: “A complete and accurate view of the resident, which underpins confident decision making and drives joined-up resident engagements, will be key to ensuring high quality, targeted and cost effective service delivery in the ‘new normal’. We’re delighted to be supporting Cheshire East to deliver its forward-thinking vision and transforming data into a trusted asset for improving the lives of residents.”
