Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council mobilises licensing with Civica’s cloud-hosted Cx Licensing software

The Council will implement latest Civica licensing solution in new four-year partnership

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council has chosen the latest Cx Licensing software from Civica, a market leader in business-critical software, digital solutions and managed services, to effectively manage its licensing applications.

The new software will help the Council mobilise its workforce, streamline licensing management with more automated and consistent decision making and improve reporting.

A fully cloud-hosted solution, Cx Licensing forms part of Civica’s Cx Regulatory Services platform which aids agile working and enables informed decision making, to help organisations reach case outcomes consistently and deliver faster, more responsive services to citizens.

As a long-standing Civica customer, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council has been using Civica’s APP software for a number of years. The Council, which processes approximately 2,000 licensing applications every year, was looking for a new cloud-hosted system which uses intelligent automation to cope with increased demand.

The main benefits of the Cx system include more consistent outcomes due to increased workflow functionality. The Council will now be able to assign work to teams rather than just individuals. An improved, more-open ended search function will also help reduce duplicate records and ties into the reporting function, saving time and increasing accuracy.

The cloud-hosted system will boost mobile working and increase productivity for the licensing team, allowing officers to perform tasks in the field. All actions are automatically updated in Cx, accelerating case resolution times and increasing operational efficiencies. This will also help the Council to retain and attract future employees with more flexible working practices.

Stephen Brown, Licensing Manager, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council said: “As a long-standing partner of Civica, we believe this new hosted system offers everything we will need and are confident of a smooth transition to Cx Licensing, helped by the company’s great support and training systems.

“Consistency for our customers is key. The software’s intelligent automation will mean we can provide a much-improved service to customers, alongside streamlining our internal processes and offering a more mobile, flexible working environment.”

Deane Greenouff, Managing Director, Community Protection at Civica, added: “We’re delighted to extend our partnership with Redcar and Cleveland to help improve its licensing processes for customers. Our new Cx Licensing technology will allow the Council to optimise workforce productivity, enhance the user experience, save time and offer more consistent and data-intelligent outcomes.”

Cx Regulatory Services enables local authorities to effectively manage Licensing, Environmental Health, Trading Standards, Housing Assistance, Housing Enforcement and Land and Property cases via one integrated platform. The system provides intelligence-led insight through accurate data management and mobile working functions, helping informed decision making and increasing productivity.

This latest Cx Regulatory Services contract follows recent partnerships with Rugby Borough Council and Durham County Council earlier in 2018.
