Welcome to Civica's Changing Landscapes research series developed in collaboration with industry leaders and our customers.

The Changing Landscapes series is based on our annual Innovation Leadership Meeting which takes place in October every year, attracting world renowned speakers who are acknowledged experts in the area of future technologies and their application in local government digital transformation.

During our meeting this year, we explored how civic authorities can leverage new technologies to improve capabilities to serve their citizens, keep systems and data secure and to enhance the overall user experience.

Our three keynote innovators from this year's event were:

  • Mike Stevens, Chief Innovation Officer, City of Columbus
  • Lance Salyers, President 5x5 Advisory Founder, Award Winning Prosecuting Attorney, Forbes Magazine Contributing Writer
  • Ralph Greco, Executive Director, Nationwide Center for Advanced, Customer Insights and Senior Lecturer, Department of Management Sciences with Ohio State University

All three presenters brought new ideas and concepts to the meeting which in some cases are now considered to be established best practice in the areas of innovation being discussed. Participants at the forum found the subject matter stimulating and it led to vibrant debate which served to formulate a Future Plan based on the shared collective knowledge.

This Changing Landscapes report serves to examine the current state of digital leadership in local government organizations as well as instruction on how to create a "digital-first economy" through driving digital transformation within their organizations.
